View on Wall mode

Introduction

The "View on Wall " mode allows you to simulate the placement of a piece of art on a wall, so you can more easily visualize its size and proportions within a room.

This feature is particularly useful when you want to share a work with clients, collectors, or collaborators and wish to provide a clearer representation of its actual dimensions.

For the simulation to be accurate, it is important that the selected image be suitable for display on a wall and that the dimensional data be entered correctly in record .

Prerequisites and selecting the correct image

Before enabling View on Wall mode, make sure that the Height and Width fields in the Dimensions and Weight section of record are filled in correctly.

For each artwork, you can set only one image in " View on Wall" mode. The values must be entered in centimeters, because Artshell uses them to correctly scale the artwork on the wall.

It is also important to choose a front-view image of the artwork that is properly proportioned. If the image has white margins, borders, or elements outside the artwork, the simulation may be less accurate and the result will not be realistic.

Enable View on Wall mode

To enable View on Wall mode, select the artwork you're interested in from the Artworks section and open its record.

Click " Images and Videos " to view the media gallery associated with the work.

If there are multiple images, choose the one that is most suitable for the simulation—preferably a front-facing, well-proportioned image with no borders.

Click the icon at the bottom right of the image and select Set as a wall-mounted display. Once the feature is enabled, the icon will appear on the selected image , which indicates that the image has been set to "View on Wall" mode.

View the simulation

After setting the image, click the icon next to the display chosen to view the simulation of the artwork on the wall.
The visualization will use the selected image and the dimensions entered in the record to display the artwork in proportion to the space.

Turn off View on Wall mode

You can turn off the mode View on Wall at any time.
Open the record , go to the section Images and videos and locate the image marked with the icon .
Click the icon at the bottom right of the image and select Turn off "View on Wall".
The image will still be associated with the artwork, but it will no longer be used for the wall simulation.

Conclusions

The "View on Wall " mode helps you present Artworks and realistically by showing the proportions of the artwork within a room.

To obtain an accurate simulation, use front-view images without borders, and make sure the Height and Width fields are filled in correctly in the record .
