FAQ • Email and Newsletter

Introduction

Do you have any questions about Artshell's emails and newsletters? You've come to the right place!

In this FAQ, you'll find answers to the most common questions about mailings, recipients, unsubscriptions, and error handling.

Why doesn't Artshell send my newsletter to all my Contacts, even though I selected "All Contacts"?

If the number of recipients is lower than the total Contacts of Contacts your Contacts" section, it means that some of them are no longer eligible to receive communications. The most common reasons are related to the contact's status:

  • Unsubscribed – they have voluntarily chosen to no longer receive emails;
  • Inactive – they haven't opened your emails for more than 20 consecutive mailings; for this reason, they are automatically excluded to protect your sender reputation;
  • Bounced – addresses that are no longer reachable, do not exist, or have mailboxes with reception issues.

To see how many Contacts into these categories, refer to the article on searching for Contacts status to find Contacts their status. Other errors, such as incorrect syntax or bounced emails generated by the newsletter itself, are reported directly within the newsletter analytics.

The status of my newsletter is still "Sending." What should I do?

For a short time after sending, the status of your newsletter may appear as " Sending."

This is normal. However, if this status persists for too long, there are two most common causes:

  • Multiple newsletters were sent simultaneously from your account to a large number of recipients;

  • Many other accounts are sending large newsletters to a large number of recipients at the same time.

Both of these situations increase the overall send load and may temporarily slow down the process. It is important to remember that mailings are never blocked, only slowed down: the newsletter will still be delivered to all recipients.

If you notice that this status persists for too long, please follow these guidelines:

  • BE PATIENT: Wait for the process to run its course.
  • DO NOT DUPLICATE the newsletter while it is still being sent.
  • If you have already duplicated the newsletter, DO NOT SEND IT AGAIN: otherwise, the recipients will receive the same message twice.

We strongly recommend that you wait without taking any further action.
The current newsletter will be sent as soon as the send queue has been cleared.

I sent a newsletter by mistake. Can I stop it from being sent?

Unfortunately, no; once you click "Send," the message immediately enters the delivery queue, and there is no technical way to stop the process, even if the email has not yet been delivered to all recipients.
To reduce the risk of errors in the future, we recommend that you:

  • Always send a test draft to yourself before the final submission—you can do this by clicking the icon top right;
  • Schedule a send a few minutes in advance so you have time to do a final check.

A contact unsubscribed by mistake and wants to start receiving my newsletters again. What should I do?

Reactivation must be performed directly by the contact for privacy and regulatory compliance reasons. Neither you nor the Artshell team can manually register them.

To invite him to sign up again:

  1. Open the settings panel using theicon at the bottom right.
  2. Go to the newsletter sign-up form.
  3. If you haven't activated it Enable the newsletter subscription form by flipping the switch
  4. Click the link in the " Link " field of the sign-up form to copy it, then send it to the contact who wants to subscribe to your newsletter again.

Can I remove the "Unsubscribe" option from my Artshell emails?

No, it’s not possible, and for very good reasons:

  • It is required by law: many jurisdictions, including the European Union under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), require that email marketing communications provide a simple way for recipients to withdraw their consent. In Italy, the Personal Data Protection Code also requires that an opt-out option be provided.
  • Failure to provide an unsubscribe option may result in severe penalties.
  • This is a best practice: it helps build trust with your Contacts reduces the likelihood of your emails being marked as spam.
