Add, edit, or delete an artist
Introduction
In this article, you'll find step-by-step instructions on how to add, edit, or delete an artist from scratch, along with explanations of the fields you can use to describe your artist on Artshell.
Add an artist
Step 1: Create a new record
Click the top right for Open the record, which is a sidebar on the right where you can enter all the artist's information.

Step 2: Fill in the fields
Below is a list of all the fields in the record .
To view the details of each field, click the corresponding title to expand it:
First Name, Last Name, Pseudonym
Enter the artist's first name, last name, and stage name (if applicable).
Add a Tag
The "Tags" field lets you create labels to help describe and group your artists. Click here to read the article about tags.
Place of birth/death and Date of birth/death
Enter the artist's place and date of birth. If the artist has passed away, also include the place and date of death.
Period
Here you can enter the artist's active period.
Movement and nationality
Artist type: Enter details about the artist’s field (e.g., painter, sculptor, photographer, etc.).
School or movement: Here you can select the school or movement from the dropdown menu.
Description: A field where you can enter more information about the school or movement.
Nationality: Here you can select the artist’s nationality from the drop-down menu.
Description: Field where you can enter more information about the nationality.
Folders or attachments added
Here you can enter any additional information about the artist. Read the related article to learn more.
Step 3: Save
After adding all the necessary information, click " Save " in the upper-left corner of record .

Edit an artist
- Select the artist you want to edit so that their record opens.
- Click the icon to enter edit mode and make the changes you want.

Remove an artist
- Select the artist you want to delete.
- Click the icon .
- Select Delete.
- A confirmation dialog box will appear. To permanently delete the work, click Delete. If you selected the work by mistake, click Cancel.

Use the feature Select Select the artists you want to remove, then click the icon
, select the last option Delete.
A confirmation dialog box will appear. To permanently remove the selected artists, click Delete. If, on the other hand, you selected the artists by mistake, click Cancel.
