Introduction

The Artists section is where you can organise and manage artists associated with your gallery, collection, or archive.

With Artshell Essential and Premiere plans, you can create an unlimited number of artist cards. If you have an Artist plan, you can create only one artist card. Regardless of your subscription, you can always organise your artist data using tags and lists. You can enhance the artists cards with biographies, images, documents, and other multimedia. Furthermore, you can link artworks in Artshell to the corresponding artist cards.

Elements of the Artists section

	The Artists heading in the top left shows the number of artists you've entered into Artshell.
	Using the search lens, you can search for keywords within the artist cards or perform a more complex search using operators.
	The Select function allows you to select your artists. See more in the section below.
	The  enables you to add a new artist card.

Sorting

The artists in this section are listed in alphabetical order based on their surname or, if they have one, their pseudonym.

The Select function

The Select function is particularly important if you want to export your contacts to an Excel file or if you want to assign lists and tags to multiple contacts in bulk.

With Artshell, you can choose to select some of your artists using the  icon or select all of them with the  icon that appears immediately after clicking the  icon.

You can choose to view only the selected artists, change their order, or deselect them.

To view all the fields within the artist card please refer to the article Add, edit, or delete an artist.

	The Details drop-down menu includes additional content associated with your artist card, such as: Artworks Media Documents Files
	This icon allows you to enter edit mode and modify the artist card.
	Use this icon to delete the artist card.
	Use the drop-down menu to view the artist card in other languages. Currently, automatic content translation isn't active, so please ensure you enter the information in each desired language.
	Use this icon to close the artist card.
	Use this button to see all the artworks that are associated with the selected artist.
