The Artshell Dashboard: menu and navigation tools
Introduction
The Artshell Desktop is the main interface from which you can access the various sections of the software and manage your account content.
Navigation is organized through two main menus:
- Horizontal menu at the top of the screen for navigating between sections and using the content management tools.
- Vertical menu on the left side to access Artshell's other features, apps, and your account settings.
In this article, you'll learn how the two menus are organized and what the main icons are used for.
The horizontal menu
The horizontal menu, located at the top of the Dashboard, allows you to navigate between the four main sections of Artshell: Artworks, Artists, Contacts and Events.
Each section contains a specific type of content and provides the tools needed to view and manage it.

Artists |
It collects the artist records present in your account. |

Artworks |
It collects all the artworks in your account. This is the section displayed when you log into Artshell. |

Contacts |
Allows you to view and manage the contacts in your database. |

Events |
It allows you to create and manage events and exhibitions. |
Horizontal menu tools
Within the main sections, you'll find several tools that allow you to search, sort, select, and add content.
Search
Click on the icon for the magnifying glass to open the search bar and find content in the section you're currently viewing. You can perform a free-text search or use specific operators and criteria to get more precise results.

Sorting
Click the icon of sorting to change the display order of the content within the section. Depending on the section, you can organize the results using criteria such as alphabetical order or creation date.
Selection
Click the icon of selection to manually select one or more items within the section. Once selected, you can access the available actions to manage them, such as exporting them or assigning Tags and Lists to multiple items simultaneously. The available operations may vary depending on the Artshell section you are currently in.
Add
Click on the + icon to create new content in your current section, such as a new artwork, an artist record, a contact, or an event.
The vertical menu
The vertical menu, located on the left side of the Desktop, allows you to quickly access other Artshell features and your account settings.
