A
Attachement
An element stored inside a folder. An attachment can be text, a file, a multimedia item, or a graphic component.
Analysis
The area within an email or newsletter that gathers statistics and other data related to the delivery and performance of your communication.
Activity
A specific sub-event within a larger event that may last longer. For example: an exhibition is an event, while a guided tour within the exhibition is considered an activity. This term is used only in the Events section.
Avatar
An image associated with your Artshell account. This should not be confused with your organisation’s logo.
C
Checklist
A type of export in PDF format. A checklist is a document where artworks are listed in sequence, useful for exhibitions, fairs, or internal checks.
Consignment
A type of export in PDF format. It is an agreement document between parties specifying the details and terms of sale for artworks.
D
Document
The term refers to all file types generated via Export, such as an artwork sheet, a certificate of authenticity, a consignment agreement, etc.
F
Fair App
A component of the Art Fair Solution. It is a branded app used by the fair organisation to manage exhibitors, the artworks on display, and the events programme. If required by the fair, the Fair App will also appear in the profiles of the galleries participating.
Folder
A container for attachments. Folders expand the fields available in records (artworks, events, artists, contacts). They are fully customisable and allow you to organise additional information according to your own criteria.
H
History
An Artshell feature that tracks changes to artwork data over time. The history is available for fields such as: valuation, location, price, acquisition, and insurance.
I
Insight
A versatile Artshell tool for creating engaging, customised digital presentations. Insights can include text, images, videos, and other media, structured as mini web pages that can be easily shared.
Inviter
A component of the Art Fair Solution. The Inviter is an advanced feature that enables an organisation to invite guests to an event created in its Artshell account. The Inviter is not available by default and must be configured in advance. For more information, contact the team at: sales@artshell.eu
L
Label
A type of export in PDF format. Contents are organised into rectangles, and once printed and cut, the document can be used as shipping labels, wall captions during exhibitions, or tags at fairs.
List
A container that lets you group and organise elements of your database (artists, artworks, events, contacts) based on criteria you define. Lists can be manual or automatic. See the dedicated article for more details: Organising Content: Tags and Lists.
Lock
A function that makes the contents of the Details tab private. Any document, image, or file marked with a closed lock will never be included in exports or shares, unless manually selected. For more details, see the article The Lock function.
M
Media
A term used to indicate “multimedia files,” i.e. all types of digital files in various formats and extensions, such as:
- Audio: music files (MP3, WAV), voice recordings
- Video: films (MP4, AVI), animations
- Immagini: photographs (JPEG, PNG), illustrations
Medialibrary
An unlimited storage space for images, videos, and files. It provides streamlined access and ensures efficient organisation of multimedia materials. For more details, see the full article dedicated to the Medialibrary.

Newsletter
A communication regularly sent via email, containing updates, news, and relevant information. A newsletter differs from a standard email because it is sent periodically to a subscribed audience, following a consistent format and structure.
Network
A dedicated space for sharing content between Artshell users. The Network is not available by default and must be configured. For more information, contact the team: sales@artshell.eu
O
Operatori
Advanced functions of the search bar, such as #tag, @Artist, Contact, etc. They allow you to search content more specifically in each section and are particularly important when creating Lists.
P
Pop-up platform
A component of the Art Fair Solution. An online platform created by Artshell for art fairs. It can include various pages, such as a list of exhibitors, a section with artworks presented, and an agenda of events linked to the fair. The pop-up platform is not available by default and must be configured in advance. For more information, contact the team: sales@artshell.eu
Privacy policy
A document that explains how an organisation collects, uses, and protects users’ personal data. Privacy policy documents can be stored within the Privacy & Policies section of the Settings Panel. Add links to your Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Terms & Conditions here.
S
Sorting ()
A function that lets you organise content according to different criteria (e.g. by date, alphabetically, or by date added). Sorting options vary depending on the section you are in.
T
Tag
Labels made of one or more terms that can be added as keywords in many sections of Artshell. Tags help you categorise and easily retrieve content. For more details, see the article Organising content: Tags and Lists
