Introduction
Artshell provides you with all the necessary tools to create personalized emails for all your communication needs. Learn how to format text, add images, events, and much more to make your emails more effective.
Before you begin, ensure you have all the necessary requirements to add content to your communication without interruptions.
Requirements

- Read the introductory article Create or delete an email.
- If you want to add an artwork to your communication: ensure you have added at least one artwork to the Artworks section. If you haven't already, first read the article Add, edit or delete an artwork.
- If you want to add an event to your communication: make sure that you have added at least one event into the Event section. If you have not done so, first read the article, Add or delete an event.
Edit the text
Within the email, select the text you want to edit to make the black editing menu appear:
To read the details of the menus' various features, click on each icon to expand it:
Text Color
Change the colour of the selected text. Click the colour icon to open the colour window and pick the desired colour. Alternatively, you can enter the HEX code (e.g. if you want to use black: #0000).
Bold
Set the selected text to bold.
Italic
Set the selected text to italic.
Font
Set a font of your choice from the list. Choose its size and line spacing.
Align Text
Choose whether you want the text centred, right-aligned, left-aligned or justified. You can also manage indentation if necessary.
Add a link to the text
Highlight the portion of text to add a link to it. Type or paste the previously copied link into the space provided. Press ENTER on your keyboard to complete the link insertion.
If you want to insert a link that redirects to an email address, then you need to put the wording mailto:
How? Add # where you want to place the contact and select from the drop-down menu the option that best suits your communication.
Add multimedia content
Use the second menu that appears in the centre at the bottom of the white email sheet, if you do not see it appear click anywhere in the white area.
To read the details of the menus' various features, click on each icon to expand it:
Add element
Social networks
Allows you to add a box for social channels where you have your cursor. The box is displayed in grey, click on it to pop up the black edit menu with the following options:
- Position: choose to position the social network box on the right, center or left side of the email.
- Spacing: choose the spacing between the icons (10, 15 or 20 px).
- Link: type or paste the links of the social networks you want to appear. To confirm, press the ENTER key on your keyboard. Once you have entered a link you will see 3 icons appear on the left: the first from the left is for removing the link, the second for editing it and the third for opening it in a new window. Leave blank any social network links you do not have or do not wish to add.
- Indentation: choose whether you want to align the icons by inserting indentations.
Divider
Allows you to add a separation line within the email. The line is black by default, but you can change the color by clicking on it and selecting a new color with the color picker or by entering the HEX color code.
Button
Allows a clickable button to be added to the email to which an external link can be attached. The button appears in a black rectangle, click on it to pop up the black edit menu with the following options:
- Button color: choose the color of the button by selecting among the proposed colors, using the color picker or by entering the HEX color code. You can also ajdust the transparency of the chosen color.
- Borders: choose the color, transparency and thickness of the button borders.
- Shape: define the shape of the button by selecting it from those proposed, from the most squared to the most rounded. If you prefer, you can also enter the radius manually.
- Text color: choose the color of the text inside the button.
- Text: choose the font, style, text size, line spacing and the text you want to add in the box.
- Size: choose the size of the button by manually entering the spacing to apply vertically or horizontally.
- Position: choose how to position the button in the email: center, right, left or with indents.
- Link: enter the URL to which the button should link once clicked.
Add artworks
Step 1: Select the function desired
Choose from the three proposed functions to add the corresponding grey preview. Click on the preview to pop up the black edit menu. The menu features the icon and two indent functions that allow you to customise the arrangement of the works in your email.
Step 2: Add the artworks
Click the icon to make the sidebar appear on the right, from there you can search or select the artworks you wish to add to your email.
Step 3: Change the order in which works are arranged (grid and pair of artworks only)
After selecting the desired artworks, click the green bar on top to view only the chosen artworks and change their order of appearance.

Step 4: Choose the content you want to include
Click the add button, then choose:
- the content you want to include such as Price, Media, Documents (only documents marked with the lock open will be included) and Other Options.
- the language of the content.
- if you want to include view on wall (make sure you have enabled this feature for at least one work).
Step 5: Finalise adding artworks and customise their arrangement
Click Continue to complete the addition of artworks. Use the indent icons to customise the layout of the artworks within the email text.
Add events
With Artshell you can add a list of events within your communication. Select this option to see the gray preview to be edited appear:
- Click the grey preview to see the black edit menu appear.
- Select the icon to open the window on the right with all the events.
- Select the events you want to add and which details you would like to include, such as Date, Media, Documents (only documents marked with the open lock will be included), Artworks, etc.
- Click Continue to add the event to your communication.
If you wish, you can change the order in which the events are arranged (only if you choose more than 2 events)
After selecting the desired events, click on the green bar to display only the chosen events and change their order using the "little hand".

Add media
If you want to add media to your communication, with this icon you can choose whether to upload Files, Videos or Images.

In the case above, we used a previously uploaded, if you prefer you can also use the link function and add a video from Vimeo or Youtube. Select the icon and paste the link under Video link.
Images:
Add complex media
Allows you to add a box composed of an image and text. Select Media and text then click the grey preview to bring up the black menu. You can then:
- manage the color and transparency of the background.
- add an image, remove it, switch its position with the text, adapt it within the box.
- manage the color of the text.
- choose the font, style, size, line spacing and insert text.
- manage the position of the text within the box, manage the indentation of the entire box within the email.
- set the size of the box in height and width.
Edit style
From here you can manage the style and layout of the entire email.
