Introduction
Artshell provides all the tools you need to create personalized emails for your communication needs. Learn how to format text, insert images, add events, and much more to make your emails more effective and engaging.
Before you begin, make sure you meet all the necessary requirements to add content to your communication without interruptions.
Requirements

- Read the introductory article: Create or delete an email.
- If you want to add an artwork to your communication: ensure you have added at least one artwork to the Artworks section. If you haven't already, read the article: Add, edit or delete an artwork.
- If you want to add an event, make sure you have added at least one to the Events section. If not, refer to the article: Add or delete an event.
Editing text
Within your email, select the portion of text you want to edit to reveal the black formatting menu.
Click on each icon in the menu to expand and explore its function:
Text Color
Change the color of the selected text. Click the color icon to open the color picker, or enter a HEX code (e.g. if you want to use black: #0000).
Bold
Applies bold formatting to the selected text.
Italic
Applies italic formatting to the selected text.
Font
Choose a font from the list, and set the size and line spacing.
Text Alignment
Align your text to the left, right, center, or justify it. You can also adjust indentation.
Add a link
Highlight the text you want to link, then type or paste the URL into the field. Press ENTER on your keyboard to complete the link insertion.
If you want to insert a link that redirects to an email address, then you need to put the wording mailto:
How? Add # where you want to place the contact data and select from the drop-down menu the option that best suits your communication.
Adding multimedia content
Use the second menu bar located at the bottom center of the white email area. If it doesn’t appear, click anywhere in the white space.
Click on each icon to explore the features:
Add element
Social networks
Add a social media icon box where your cursor is placed. A grey placeholder will appear, click it to open the black edit menu:
- Position: align the box (left, center, or right).
- Spacing: set spacing between icons (10, 15, or 20 px).
- Link: type or paste the links of the social networks you want to appear. To confirm, press the ENTER key on your keyboard. Once you have entered a link you will see 3 icons appear on the left: the first from the left is for removing the link, the second for editing it and the third for opening it in a new window. Leave blank any social network links you do not have or do not wish to add.
- Indentation: adjust alignment via indentation if needed.
Divider
Add a horizontal separator line. The default color is black, but you can change it using the color picker or a HEX code.
Button
Add a clickable button linked to a URL. The button appears in black by default, click on it to pop up the black edit menu with the following options:
- Button color: choose from predefined colors, use the color picker, or insert a HEX code. Transparency is adjustable.
- Borders: define color, transparency, and thickness.
- Shape: select a preset shape or manually set the border radius.
- Text color: choose the color of the text inside the button.
- Text and size: customize the font, size, spacing, and appearance of the button text.
- Position: adjust vertical/horizontal padding and align the button (left, center, right, or indented).
- Link: enter the external URL the button should lead to.
Add artworks
Step 1: Select the function desired
Click on your preferred layout. A grey preview box will appear. Click it to open the black edit menu with the icon and indentation tools.
Step 2: Add the artworks
Click the icon to open the sidebar on the right. From there, search for or select the artworks you want to include.
Step 3: Reorder (for Grid and Pair layouts only)
Click the green bar to filter only selected artworks. Use the hand icon to drag and reorder them.

Step 4: Choose content to display
Click Add, then select:
- the content you want to include such as Price, Media, Documents (only documents marked with the lock open will be included) and Other Options.
- the language of the content.
- whether to show the View on Wall option (ensure it's enabled for at least one artwork).
Step 5: Finalize
Click Continue to add the artworks. Use indentation tools to customize the layout within the email.
Add events
With Artshell you can add a list of events within your communication. Select this option to display a grey preview box.
- Click the grey preview to open the black edit menu.
- Select the icon to open the sidebar with available events.
- Select the events you want to add, if you've selected more than two events, you can reorder them by clicking the green bar and dragging them using the hand icon.
- Select which details you would like to include, such as Date, Media, Documents (only documents marked with the open lock will be included), Artworks, etc.
- Click Continue to finalize.

Add media
You can upload Files, Videos, or Images:

In the case above, we used a previously uploaded, if you prefer you can also use the link function and add a video from Vimeo or Youtube. Select the icon and paste the link under Video link.
Images:
Add complex media (Image + Text)
This feature allows you to insert a box containing both an image and text. Select Image and Text to insert a grey preview, then click it to edit.
You can customize:
- background color and transparency.
- image (add, remove, switch position, resize).
- text color, font, size, line spacing.
- text positioning and box indentation.
- box dimensions (height and width).
Edit style
Use this feature to customize the layout and overall appearance of your email. Adjust fonts, colors, spacing, and other global settings to align with your branding.
